“Hiya Tony, Keith & James,

I’ve had a wicked time staying here and thankyou for everything! Definitely going to miss the place and all the characters.

“Oh, we just love this hostel. It’s so lovely and friendly and you never need to be alone. You can just be yourself and we promise you that you will love this place. We just left it one day ago. And we already miss it a lot. We cried a whole river when it was time to go. I have nothing bad to say about it.

The staff is totally lovely — Tony with his guitar, Keef with his lovely jokes, James, so wonderful and friendly. Awww, you will just have a great time over there. And I really hope I will be back.

Then THE PARTY STARTED!!! (at Planet Inn)

“INCREDIBLE!!!

When I first landed in Perth I had no idea where to go. I talked to some people who were leaving Perth, and they referred me to a place called Red Backpackers. I gave them a call and they picked me up from the airport.

Then THE PARTY STARTED!!! Being a single Canadian guy of 23, I like to meet new people and try new ways to drink wobbly pop, a funnel here, a shotgun there, and even if you wanted to relax you could sit on the front porch and read a book. (Not me, though.) Everyone you meet here is happy to learn about your travels and experiences. Tony, who you might see playing the guitar singing along with all the guests, is the most easy-going owner you will ever meet.

All you have to do is respect the place you are staying, and you will get the same in return. There is so much more to this hostel than a place to rest. You will get a full experience staying here. I planned to stay for a couple of weeks and it turned out to be a couple of months. There is a job board in the hostel if you are looking for work. Transportation is right at your fingertips. There is someone going to the beach everyday. There is so much more to tell you, but I think I’m going to run out of room.

The only thing I would like you to do is go see a local Perth football game (soccer). It will be an experience you will never forget. I stayed here a few years back, but I promise you if you mention “The Mad Canadian” I’m sure the stories and photos will come out. When you do get to Perth, say hi to Tony for me, it has been a while. P.S. bring your guitar.”
