Perth Sexpo 2009
Australia’s biggest celebration of sexuality, sexual health and adult lifestyle is back for its 11th year as apparently the most popular public exhibition in the country, with over 55,000 people visiting last year’s event in Sydney alone.

Date : Thursday, 21 May 2009 to Sunday, 24 May 2009
Website: www.sexpo.com.au
Sexpo’s aim is ostensibly to encourage people to “openly talk about sex, explore health and lifestyle issues and be more comfortable about their sexuality,” though it’s not above having a little fun with the topic of sex too.

Good people party atmosphere!
I booked into the planet inn for three days then extended it to ten and ended up staying six months. The atmosphere and people i have met are next to no other i have ever met. The friendships i have made and truly lifelong. I have been to hostels before but never to one where everyone fitted in so well. Wherever people are from or what interests are, everyone sits down and has a drink and a laugh together. Nobody is ever alone or left out. Friday nights are the best. Everybody gets together and has a BBQ and drinks and has a bit of a session where there are always a few guitars. The staff are great too and go out of the way to help. They always find a way to make things easier from running to the bar to serve everyone to dropping bus loads of people into town on a saturday night. If there is something they can do they will. And they will even have a drink and a chat with everyone after their shift. there is a very personal approach and you don’t feel like you are being babysat! anyone planning on coming to Perth should stay at the Planet Inn if they are up for fun and meeting some interesting people. It is a place to build some memories.

That One Little Decision

Hey Tony, yeah I’m still in NZ and still loving it. New website is looking good and I’m glad to see my puss cats are still all ok. I do worry about them alot as they are getting on abit now. As is the Planet, I still can’t quite believe that you just had your 13th birthday, it sometimes seems like only yesterday we were celebrating its 10th birthday!
I have to say right now my life is pretty perfect and I can only thank the planet for that (have I told you this already? I’m not sure I forget things easily – can I blame it on getting old yet??) However I live in Mount Maunganui, which is an awesome little town, I live here because I came here to catch up with Timm and liked it so much I decided to settle. I have a great job in an Irish bar, I got the job through a guy called Jinx, who I met through Timm and Irish Pauline. I have an awesome flat, which I used to share with Ross and Doro, and in fact it was found by Doro. Ross is english and used to have ginger dreads and Doro, his misses is german. All these people stayed in the Planet and TImm, Pauline and Ross I met in my first few weeks there. So you see I never can quite believe how that one little decision has shaped the rest of my travels.
I still keep in contact with a fair few of the wonderful people that I met over there and hope to see alot of them in July as I am heading back for a months holiday, starting in Edinburgh and heading down the our fair isle – where i will be stuck for 2 weeks with no escape!!!! Hope all is good with you, let me know your news. Take care and you never know I may pop by for a visit in a couple of years. Look after my Bubs. J x
